I still feel like even with Aranessa, Repanse, Skavenblight, Gelt, etc, there is still a bit of a hole in the map around Southern Realms though. I feel like this is a good point to be at at the end of game 2, Dwarfs and VC both have a role in darklands and will probably end up as game 3 dlc, Chaos and Beastmen will probably get love in game 3 as well. Game 1 factions that could still use a bit of love: Dwarfs, Vampire Counts, Chaos, Beastmen, Norsca (Chaos and Beastmen more than the others) (Although Nakai could still use a bit of work). Now that we have all the major skaven I feel like the Game 2 factions are pretty much done now. Man, Naggarond is going to be Lustria 2 in ME now.

There's a new Wood Elf faction up there, and Ghrond has been reduced to only controlling the one settlement. Throt starts in northern Naggaroth, above (and between) Malekith and Hellebron. It'll be interesting to see where those are my guess for one of them would be the Haunted Forest, added over in the east near Clan Eshin.

I assume the above four, plus Athel Loren and Laurelorn, and the two other new ones. They mention that there will be eight such forests in ME. Those two, plus Gaean Vale and Oreon's Camp, are the four special forest provinces in the Vortex. There is a new faction of Greenskins nearby as well.īesides the Witchwood, the Sacred Pools in northern Lustria appears to be the other additionally added territory. The Sister of Twilight being a dual unit seems to have been solved by them always being mounted (either on their eagle or dragon), and they start in Naggaroth (in a new province called The Witchwood, immediately north of Morathi).

The stream has also mentioned a new game mechanic: abandoning settlements. I'll add that the air units in the setting are a different beast from even Warhammer's given that fighter craft are a lot faster than bats or the like and I don't think Battletech's aerospace fighters can hover in place and have to keep moving like jets.

Lots of long distance ranged combat, cover, fast movement to evade ranged fire, locational damage, primary focus of the license being on Big Stompy 's just less of a natural fit than some other stuff that gets brought up, but yeah you could make it work with a lot of time and effort. It ultimately sounds like you would have to add more stuff than you would be borrowing from the existing formula and engine. You run into a lot of the same problems that make so many people say "unless it has formations of infantry as its main deal, I don't want this time period" in Total War. It does seem like you would be better off with a different game that better supported 5-10 mechs on each side instead, but hey it's possible.Īnd yeah, just the nature of engagement seems fundamentally different than a Total War game. Yeah if you keep the mech count super low it seems possible.
